There are a number of engineering workshops:

• Manufacturing and Electrical in the Cathedral Building, Deansway
• Centre of Vocational Excellence at Sunnyside Road
• North Brook Light Vehicle Workshops

Our engineering workshop includes:

• Centre & CNC lathes
• Vertical, Universal & CNC milling machines
• Pillar drills, Surface & off-hand grinders, cylindrical grinder and engraving machine
• Spot welder and Oxy/Acetylene for heat treatment, welding & brazing
• PUMA Unimate Articulated robot & 2 Mitsubishi robots
• A range of marking out & inspection equipment, sheet metal cutting, bending and folding equipment
• Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair

Light Vehicle & Motorcycle Maintenance
We also have a dedicated Motorcycle Workshop where we teach servicing, maintenance and repair of modern and classic motorcycles as part of The Institute of The Motor Industry Level 1 Award in Motor Cycle Maintenance and Repair. This includes preparing parts and plating to professional standards, sand and media blasting components and painting and finishing parts.

Our motorcycle workshop based classroom boasts:

• 15 modern motorcycles from most major manufacturers including sports, commuters, cruisers and mopeds with two and four stroke singles, twins, triples and fours.
• Sandblasting, plating and paintwork facilities
• Eight dedicated high lift motorcycle benches as well as engine stands, hoists, ramps and lifts.

Electronics workshop
We have a fully equipped electronic workshop with Signa Generators, Cathode Ray Oscilloscopes, Counters and pcb fabrication equipment. We also have Instrumentation and Mechatronic simulation boxes, logic tracers and probes. 

Practical electronics classes form part of several modules for both National Diploma/Certificate and Higher National Diploma/Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualifications as well as the Foundation Degree in Electronics and Control. These modules could be analogue and digital electronics, fault finding, ECAD, electronic devices, electronic circuit manufacture, mechatronics and instrumentation and control.
