Information & Study skills

At the start of your course your tutor will arrange for you to receive an induction to the services and resources that are available to you from the Study Centres.  As your course progresses your tutor may also arrange for you to attend further information skills sessions such as showing you how to access e-books.

Study Centre staff can also help you to develop your study skills.   We deliver information literacy and study skills sessions to timetabled groups and individual students.  Some Study Centres also offer drop in study skills workshops.

We can provide help with:

  • Writing Assignments
  • Using Online Resources
  • Searching theIinternet
  • Time Management
  • Harvard Referencing
  • Proofreading

Most of the Study Centres have a Study Skills collection which includes resources that will help you to develop your study and research skills.   Information literacy training is also available through a Study Centre Moodle course.

If you would like further information about the help available,  please contact staff in any of the Study Centres or pick up some of our useful leaflets
