Starting Photography

About this course

This foundation level course assumes no previous knowledge or experience in photography. The course is broad-based and encourages participants to develop their photography through a series of discussions and by viewing examples of their work and others. You will examine basic portrait and landscape styles, and apply your new skills to your own work so that you can confidently use your equipment and take better pictures. After grasping the essential principles of photography, you will look at what makes a successful photograph. Technical explanations are a feature of the course, but will be kept to a minimum. An understanding about ""what's in the frame"" and the principles of simple composition are introduced. In addition to the 7 evening sessions there will be 3 Saturday/Sunday morning photo location shoots.
