About this course

This advanced qualification is designed to give you a firm foundation for a successful career in Human Resource Management.

Over the 2 years you will study the following modules:

Group A

• Managing employment relations
• Reward management
• Resourcing and talent management
• Learning and talent management

Group B

• HRM in context*
• Leading, managing and developing people*
• Developing skills for business leadership
• Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective

Days and times

Part-time:The first year of this course takes place on a Tuesday 2.15 pm - 9.00 pm or on a Tuesday and Thursday evening 6.00 pm - 9.00 pm.  The second year takes place on Thursday 2.00 pm - 9.00 pm or Wednesday and Thursday 6.00 pm - 9.00 pm.

Entry requirements

An intermediate CIPD qualification (CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Management or completion of first year of the Professional Development Scheme) or a relevant BA or Masters degree of a QAA level 7 qualification or appropriate work experience.

Assessment

The modules in Group A require you to pass one externally set and internally marked assignment per module.  Those modules marked* are assessed by an external exam.  Devloping skills for business leadership requires you to provide a skills portfolio marked by your tutor and Investigating a business issue from a HR perspective requires you to research and write a 7,000 report based on a workplace situation. 

What next?

Success in the two year course means you will then be able to apply for full CIPD membership (subject to appropriate work experience)
