Course Content

Learners take three mandatory units (Group A) covering the development of strategic business plans, the strategic direction and leadership of an organisation and leading change within an organisation. They then choose from a diverse range of optional units (Group B) to complete the qualification, tailoring their learning to meet their individual and organisational needs.

Mandatory units Group A

• Develop a strategic business plan

Optional units Group B

• Inform strategic decision-making
• Put a strategic business plan into action
• Establish policies and procedures to comply with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements
• Support the culture of an organisation
• Lead innovation within an organisation
• Plan an organisations workforce
• Manage a budget for own area or activity or work
• Obtain additional finance for an organisation
• Promote knowledge management in own organisation
• Outsource organisational processes
• Manage a programme of complementary projects
• Design and manage the business processes
• Improve organisational performance
• Manage quality systems

Assessment uses evidence from the workplace for example observable performance, physical products of work (such as reports, plans, correspondence etc), witness testimony, professional discussion and questioning.
