CMI Certificate in Management and Leadership Level 5

About this course

This programme is designed to meet the needs of middle managers wishing to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to develop their career in management.  It is equally valuable for the person who aspires to such a role.  The programme concentrates on the practical application of management theory and principles in the context of developing the team leader or middle manager. 

The Level 5 Certificate requires you to complete 2/3 of the units below:

• Resource management
• Developing your management and leadership style
• Information based decision making
• Meeting stakeholder and quality needs
• Managing recruitment and selection
• Performance management
• Marketing planning
• Human resource development
• Conducting a management report

The course is delivered by a monthly workshop for each unit (Wednesdays 2pm – 9pm).  There is however, some flexibility built in to accommodate unexpected issues. 

The workshops are supported by the College on-line interactive site and tutorials.  Once enrolled, you will also have the benefit of student membership of the Chartered Management Institute.

CMI Inspection July 2011 identified that: "staff have always demonstrated a commitment to the care and development of their students resulting in exceptional standards and achievement."

Entry requirements

It is expected that you will hold a qualification at an appropriate level.  However, we are able to take into account your level of experience in lieu of formal qualifications and this is normally established at interview.

Assessment

Assessment can include written reports and group work as well as individual and group presentations.

What next?

On successful completion of the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership you may wish to top up to the full CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.
