What will I be doing?

You will develop a sound knowledge and understanding of business and finance through a combination of lectures, tutorials and independent study. You learn about how different types of businesses recruit, communicate, manage their finances and use their resources.

You will be encouraged to think about a range of new and exciting topics, using real-life case studies and class trips to widen your practical knowledge of the sector. You will also learn about aspects of employment law, product promotion, internet marketing, market research and web design.

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs in academic subjects, including a minimum grade D in English and Maths. Alternatively, you will have achieved a Diploma in Business Level 2 or an equivalent qualification.

Assessment

You will be assessed on an ongoing basis through different assignments. You can choose to study in our specialist resource centre and you will be allocated a personal tutor, who will provide support and guidance throughout the course to help you achieve your targets.

What next?

If you are serious about a career in business, then you should consider a degree in the subject or a related area such as Law, Accounting or Marketing.

The business industry is exciting and rewards logic, determination and sheer hard work. It covers many different areas including audit and advisory, consulting, insurance, finance, management and accounting. You could become an Accountant, Project Manager or Public Relations Officer.
