AAT Diploma for Accounting Technicians Level 4 (Apprenticeship)

About this course

The aim of the programme is to enable students to achieve the appropriate level of the AAT Accounting Qualification. This will provide the student with the skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to undertake the demanding work of an accounting technician.

The programme is divided into three levels the last of which is the AAT Level 4 Diploma for Accounting Technicians which consists of the following units:

There are compulsory units for all students covering:

  • Budgeting
  • Financial performance
  • Financial statements
  • Internal control and accounting systems (3,500 to 4.500 word project)

Students must also complete two options from a choice of four (subject to demand) covering:

  • Auditing
  • Business Taxation
  • Personal Taxation
  • Credit management and debt control

This programme is available in the following modes of study:

  • Thursday (09.30-17.00)
  • Thursday (13.45-21.00)
  • Tuesday and Thursday (17.45-21.00)

Courses will commence week commencing 19 September 2011.

Entry requirements

Students can progress to this course if they have successfully completed AAT Level 3 Diploma for Accounting Technicians.

Assessment

The core units Budgeting, Financial Performance and Financial Statements are each assessed by computer-based assessments.

The remaining option, Credit Management and Debt Control, will be an internally assessed case study.  In addition, students must complete a project based on their workplace (AAT online case study available where necessary) for the unit Internal Control and Accounting Systems.  This is assessed internally.

All assessments will take place during normal lesson time where possible.
