What is a network? How are graphics made? Can I create my own webpage? If you find yourself asking these and other computer-related questions, then you need this course! Our Diploma for IT Professionals Level 2 will introduce you to the world of computers and help you take your first-step onto the IT career ladder. By the end of the course, you will be aware of networking essentials, know how to recognsie different types of hardware and software, and be ready to work in the world of IT!
What will I be doing?
Our hands-on course will introduce you to a range of IT subjects. You will discover how a computer works and how to set up an IT network, before beginning to use databases and spreadsheets to present information. You will also learn how to create graphics, webpages and websites, and develop your communication skills.
Entry requirements
You will need 5 GCSEs grade A-E, a Diploma in IT Level 1 or a relevant qualification. If you are a mature student, then your previous IT experience will also be considered.
Assessment
You will create a folder of work and your tutor will mark this as you complete each task. Some of your assignments will be based on the practical work that you complete on the computer. There are no written exams.
What next?
If you want to take your skills to the next level, you will want to take our Subsidiary Diploma for IT Professionals Level 3 or, if you achieve a merit grade, our Extended Diploma option.
With a Diploma for IT Professionals Level 2, you can choose to enter a range of career pathways, including hardware retail, technical or network support, database administration, web games or software development.
