With our Extended Diploma for IT Professionals (Software Applications and Multimedia) Level 3, you will develop the skills and knowledge you need to pursue your dream career in IT development. Whether you see yourself designing computer games, developing software or making new mobile phone applications, you need this course!

What will I be doing?

Our course begins with a number of core units in general IT studies, system security, information systems, graphics, website production and web management.

In your second year, you will study a range of specialist units in computer animation, games design, interactive media authoring and web server scripting. You will learn how to design IT systems for different companies, design interfaces for computer programs and build computer games – and that's just for starters! You will also have the opportunity to work on your own extended software project.

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSE grade A*-B or a Merit grade in a relevant Level 2 Diploma, such as our Diploma for IT Professionals Level 2. If you are a mature student, then we will also consider your previous IT experience.

Our Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels.

Assessment

You will be assessed through coursework, reports, practical activities, projects and short tests.

What next?

After completing your Extended Diploma, you can apply to study our HNC or HND in Computing or a BA (Hons) degree in Computer Games Programming, Game Art Design, Games Technology or Software Development.
