What will I be doing?
Our Subsidiary Diploma is a specialist computing qualification that is equivalent to one full A Level. It will help you to develop a range of skills and techniques in IT from basic knowledge of computer systems to a more advanced understanding of programming, technical support and repair. You will learn how a computer works, how to design and maintain networks, and how companies use information systems to store and use data. You will have the opportunity to design your own software, develop your own website and even program your own computer game!
You will also have the chance to improve your employability skills by working on your communication skills and interview techniques.
Entry requirements
You will need five GCSE grade A-C or a relevant Level 2 Diploma, such as a Diploma for IT Professionals Level 2. If you are a mature student, then we will also consider your previous IT experience.
Our Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to one A Level.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a combination of coursework activities, such as short tests, reports, practical activities and projects.
What next?
After completing your Subsidiary Diploma, you may want to progress to our Extended Diploma for IT Professionals and choose to specialise in Networking and Systems Support, Software Applications and Multimedia, or Software Development and Gaming.
