Are you passionate about construction and keen to learn about a range of areas? Do you enjoy hands-on learning? If so, our Extended Diploma in Construction Level 3 is the ideal course for you. Our course will equip you with a range of practical skills and a broad knowledge of the industry, and offers natural progression towards study at HNC, HND or degree level. Perfect if you have your sights set on higher education.

What will I be doing?

Our course will take you on a journey through the areas of property development, building design and construction methods. Along the way, you will have to calculate building costs and structural plans. You will also need to think about how you would manage the day-to-day running of a construction site.

You will also learn about the different regulations that govern the industry and cover issues such as health and safety, and environmental sustainability.

Site visits and exhibitions will give you a valuable insight into the commercial world of construction, and our overview of the various jobs available within the industry will give you some great career ideas!

Additional Costs: You will be required to pay £25 for course t-shirts

Entry requirements

You will need a reasonable standard of education with five GCSE grades C or above, including Maths and English. Alternatively, you will have a First Diploma in Construction Level 2.

Assessment

Your assessment will be unit based and you will complete a number of projects, practical tests and drawings.

What next?

You may wish to progress to our HNC in Building Studies or HND in Construction. You could also think about a degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services or Construction.
