HNC to FD Progression (Electrical Systems and Installation)

About this course

This course allows the student to take his HNC in mechanical or manufacturing and use it to obtain a foundation degree in 18 months. In the six months after you have completed your HNC you will undertake a bridging module containing Engineering Management and Product Innovation.

The second year is based on practical applications of engineering topics such as inspection and testing and instrumentation and control and PLC’s.  There is also a project which allows students to investigate theoretical ideals with company practice.

There is a mixture of internally set assignments and exams.

What next?

This course is directed towards developing individuals in work based learning so that career progression opportunities should be strengthened.

Direct progression onto the final year of the BSc Engineering studied on an evening basis or a BEng Electrical/Electronic degree, studied on a part time day basis at Coventry University.
