What next?
If you wish to progress to further study, you may want to consider a university degree course in an engineering subject, or an eighteen month ‘top-up’ to a Foundation Degree in Manufacturing or HND Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you can choose to specialise in areas such as Product Design, where you will use computer aided design software to design products that meet performance, quality and cost targets, alongside anticipating the impact of products on society, i.e. how they will be used, decomposed and recycled. Other areas to specialise in include Process Design and Improvement, Facility Design, Operations Management and Information Systems.
