HNC to FD Progression (Mechanical)

About this course

This course allows the student to take his HNC in mechanical or manufacturing and use it to obtain a foundation degree in 18 months. In the six months after you have completed your HNC you will undertake a bridging module containing Engineering Management and Product Innovation.

The second year is based on practical applications of engineering topics such as CAD (Autocad and Solidworks), pneumatics and hydraulics (Automation Studio simulations and practical work on boards), plcs, and robot technology.  There is also a quality assurance and environmental module which allows students to investigate theoretical ideals with company practice.

Continually assessed with internally set examinations and assignments.  Validated by Aston University.
