Who should attend

Designed particularly for those employed in the engineering, manufacturing and processing industries, involved in business improvement within a team.

Course ContentLearners will be taught in their work environment and must complete seven units in total comprising five mandatory units and two optional units, one of which may be selected from units in the Process Improvement pathway.

Mandatory Units

  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • Contributing to effective team working
  • Contributing to the application of Six Sigma methodology to a project
  • Contributing to the application of Six Sigma process mapping
  • Contributing to the application of basic statistical analysis

Optional Units

  • Contributing to the application of statistical process control (SPC) procedures
  • Contributing to the application of failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Contribution to the application of measurement systems analysis (MSA)
  • Carrying out mistake/error proofing (Poka Yoke)

Assessment - is through submission of a portfolio of evidence of work activities or work outcomes, that are the learners own work/contribution.

City and Guilds are the awarding body.
