About this course

This is the first year of the qualification, on a day release basis, which provides the fundamental knowledge to become an Electrician.  Subjects will include installation technology, electrical safety, practical work and electrical principles. Potential learners must be aware that to become fully qualified, they must complete this qualification and the Level 3 qualification, together with an NVQ at Level 3.

Entry Requirements

Learners on this course, and mode of attendance, are primarily electrical apprentices working for an employer involved with electrical installation. GCSE at grades C in English, Maths and Science would be preferred.

Assessment

Online examinations (MC) and practical assignments.

Following successful completion of this course at both Levels 2 and 3, together with the NVQ at Level 3, the learner can become a qualified electrician (Building and Structures)
