This is the first year of the qualification and it provides the fundamental knowledge to become an Electrician. Subjects will include installation technology, electrical safety, practical work and electrical principles. Potential learners must be aware that to become fully qualified, they must complete this qualification and the Level 3 qualification, together with an NVQ at Level 3.
Entry requirements
The course is primarily aimed at those working in the Electrical Industry. However, learners wishing to re-train or have a change of career may also be eligible.

What next?
Following successful completion of this qualification at Levels 2 and 3, together with the NVQ at Level 3 (Learners must be working in the industry to gain an NVQ), the learner can become a fully qualified Electrician (Building and Structures).
