What will I be doing?
This course will help you move closer to your goals by encouraging you to reach your potential and improve your performance through clear goal setting and personal development activities.
- Your time on this course will help you develop your learning skills which will include the development of plans to break down large tasks, understand and your own learning style and use them more effectively to support your progression onto further education, training or employment.
- This course also focuses on developing your enterprise skills. You will become the designer, planner, accountant and director of your own company with a new product to launch to market! You will create a fictional business plan, cost any resources that you may need and then sell your final idea to a panel of judges where you will deliver a persuasive argument to sell you product. In addition to the Level 1 Award you will explore further the cost implications of the project, explore the wider funding tools available to support the manufacturing and advertising costs and research the appropriate decisions to make when balancing potential risk against potential rewards.
You will gain 3 new qualifications by doing this course, all in just 7 weeks! The qualifications are: NCFE Level 2 Award in Developing Effective Thinking Skills, NCFE Level 2 Award in Learning to Learn and NCFE Level 2 Award in Developing Enterprise Skills.
Entry requirements
A reasonable standard of English and Maths (GCSE A –D), a willingness to learn and add a positive experience to your CV.
Assessment
You will work with your tutor to set your own personal targets and assess your needs. If you choose to study for a qualification, you will complete a folder of your work. Your tutor will mark your work and meet with you to give you feedback.
What next?
Our course will help you develop the skills you need to progress onto further education, training or employment. After completing the course, you may like to study one of our Catering, Care or Uniformed Services courses at Level 2/3.
