Course Content

Managers and supervisors are by there very nature, required to manage a variety of resources and responsibilities and that includes health and safety in the workplace. The aim of this course is to ensure that first line managers appreciate the safety requirements in compliance with their own organisation's policy and best practice in health and safety.

You will cover the following topics:

• Why do we need Health & Safety
• Common law – statute law
• Risk assessment
• Reactive monitoring in the workplace
• Common hazards – electricity, fire, machinery
• Basic management systems
• Active monitoring and inspection

Duration: A four day course (one day a week for four consecutive weeks)
