Who should attend
Developed particularly for those working in a cleaning capacity in a range of sectors from factories to offices.
Course Content
To achieve the full qualification, candidates must attain a minimum of 6 units in total, comprising three of the mandatory units; make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety and communicate effectively with customers then work as a team and develop yourself and work individually and develop yourself. The remaining 3 units will be selected from the optional units.
The Learning and Skills Development Officer will provide support and guidance in selecting the appropriate units.
Mandatory Units
- Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- Communicate effectively with customers and others
- Work as a team and develop yourself OR
- Work individually and develop yourself
Optional Units
- Clean and maintain internal surfaces and areas
- Clean and maintain external surfaces and areas
- Deal with routine waste
- Clean washrooms and replenish supplies
- Clean high risk areas
- Clean confined spaces
- Clean food areas
- Deep clean equipment and surfaces
- Clean, maintain and protect hard floors
- Clean and maintain soft floors and furnishings
- Clean glazed surfaces and facades
- Deal with non-routine waste
- Carry out maintenance and minor repairs
- Perform street cleansing manually
- Perform street cleansing by machine
- Work safely at heights
- Use a water-fed pole system to clean windows and facades
Assessment - is through submission of a portfolio of evidence and/or professional discussion, to demonstrate that the requirements are met at the relevant standard (this includes assessments in the workplace).
The Awarding Body is City & Guilds.
