A single unit qualification recognising candidates' achievements in a specific area of law or legal practice. Candidates who continue their studies and complete 3 further qualifying modules together with both Professional Skills modules will then have achieved the final academic stage towards becoming a Legal Executive and will be awarded the ILEX Level 6 Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice.
In this module you will cover all the important areas of contract law, from how contracts are formed, what factors can invalidate a contract, to the ways contracts can come to an end and the various remedies for breach.
Lessons for Ilex Level 6 subjects start at either 9.15 or 13.30 and are for three hours. In any particular subject the lesson happens either on Wednesday morning or Wednesday afternoon and is delivered in this way either from September to December or from January to May.
Entry requirements
The examinations can be taken by those who have passed, or gained exemptions from, Level 3. (Unless they are taken on an individual basis, as explained above). For information about exemptions please contact Aidan Flynn on 01905 743405.
Please note that entry is not restricted to those employed in solicitors' offices.
Assessment
There is one three-hour examination for each subject. Examinations are held in January and June.
Students must enter for the examinations with Ilex. The college is not responsible for examination entries.
