What makes WCT the best?
Our Worcester City Football Academy has run successfully for over 11 years. It is led by two highly qualified coaches with both league and non-league experience, and all of our training sessions and matches are attended by a professional physiotherapist. We offer three teams in three different leagues with up to three games running per week. We boast excellent training and match day facilities, and strong links with Worcester City FC first team. Our students enjoy our professional yet friendly approach to training and especially look forward to the end of year season tour to Spain!
What will I be doing?
Our course balances classroom learning with exciting hands-on and practical activities. You will develop your confidence, independence and knowledge of sport performance, and you will be training and competing on a daily basis, so your football skills are sure to improve!
You will study the principles of anatomy, physiology and psychology in sport, the physiology of fitness, and the importance of sports nutrition, risk assessment and fitness testing.
In addition to our core subjects, you will study a range of specialist units in sports coaching, sports injuries, talent identification and development. By the end of the course, you will be able to organise sporting events, and carry out laboratory and experimental methods in sports and exercise sciences. You will also develop the technical and tactical skills you need to play football to a high standard.
As a member of our Football Academy, you could be training for up to fourteen hours a week and participating in games in our English College's Premier League and our regional under 21's league.
Additional costs include £450 for the end of season trip to Spain, £80 for a Football Academy Training Kit consisting of full tracksuit, rain jacket, training shirt, shorts, socks and sweatshirt.
