Is the course right for me?
Fancy getting up close and personal with some of the biggest names in show business? Getting muddy at Glastonbury? Directing the crowds at Download? Or how about working at community events, sports venues or even being part of the 2012 Olympics?
'Introduction to Event Stewarding' is a new two-day course at WCT. It will equip you with the training and information you need to work or volunteer at some of the greatest events in the country. No previous experience is required and, if you are age 18 or under, it's completely free!
What will I be doing?
Our course offers a basic introduction to event stewarding and covers issues such as health and safety, crowd control, first aid and customer care. You will learn how to deal with crowd problems, manage conflict, handle emergencies and work as part of a team. If you complete twenty hours of stewarding experience, you will also receive a Certificate in Event Stewarding. We can even help you find local job opportunities!
Stewarding is a fantastic way for you to get involved in your local community and catch the latest gigs at the same time as boosting your CV and earning some cash. Places are limited, so book today!
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but we will invite you to attend an informal interview to see if you are suitable for the course.
Assessment
You will complete a folder of work during the two day course
What next?
You could work at a range of community and national events, including fetes, fayres, music festivals, arts festivals and even the 2012 London Olympics! Or why not consider a career in Events Management?
