Who should attend

Suitable for those wishing to change career or move into a particular area of employment following a career break. This certificate is suitable for individuals who will use all assessment methods and needs to be qualified in all aspects of assessment.

Course Content

This Certificate expands upon the work-related focus in the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Workplace/Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF) and covers some of the knowledge and practical skills required for particular roles in a vocational sector. It also extends an individual's knowledge and understanding of work in a particular sector.

The programme involves attendance at six half-day workshops at Worcester College of Technology, which will cover the principals and practices of assessment, how to assess occupational competence within the working environment and how to assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding, followed by six one-to-one workshops, upon your employment premises.

Assessment - All units are internally assessed. Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment criteria which must be met. To achieve a pass the learner must have met all the assessment criteria.

Evidence of competence may come from:

• current practice
• a programme of development
• the recognition of prior learning (RPL)

The Awarding Body is Edexel.
