About this course

This 2 year, part-time course for new teachers leads to a full qualification and the full teaching licence (QTLS). This is also the right course for people who have already completed some teacher training. We will always give you the maximum possible credit for existing qualifications. Often this will exempt you from some elements of study - but do note that if all you have done so far is PTLLS, significant exemption will not be possible.

We offer the DTLLS course at WCT as a franchise centre for Warwick University and your final DTLLS Diploma will be from Warwick University.

This course will suit you if you are:

A new teacher who wants full qualification as a teacher in the LLS.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in your chosen subject or, exceptionally, equivalent experience.
A Level 2 qualification (for example GCSE Grade A to C or O level), in Literacy.
Access to a minimum of 100 hours of teaching practice over the 2 years of the Course; you must bring proof of 50 hours in order to be given a place on the DTLLS course.
