Ideal for those who assess candidates within the working environment using different assessment methods such as products of work, observation, questioning the learner, professional discussion, identifying learner statements and recognising the achievement of prior learning.

Course Content

This Award provides an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment in a particular role in a vocational sector.

It is ideal for those who assess candidates within the working environment using different assessment methods such as products of work, observation, questioning the learner, professional discussion, identifying learner statements and recognising the achievement of prior learning.

This programme involves attendance at six half-day workshops at Worcester College of Technology, which will cover the principles and practices of assessment and how to assess occupational competence within the working environment. This will be followed by four one-to-one workshops at your employment premises.

Assessment - All units are internally assessed. Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment criteria which must be met. To achieve a pass the learner must have met all the assessment criteria.

Evidence of competence may come from:

• current practice
• a programme of development
• the recognition of prior learning (RPL)

The Awarding Body is Edexcel.
