This course has been specifically designed to enable individuals to develop the skills and training required to work within the Airport passenger service sector. It can also be utilised by those who have a general interest in a career in aviation operations.
Course content
• Unit 01 Researching the airport industry & the role of the airport passenger service agent.
• Unit 02 Understanding airport knowledge required by the airport passenger services agent
• Unit 03 Deal efficiently with the processing of aircraft passengers.
• Unit 04 Identify the boarding procedure for aircraft passengers.
• Unit 05 Identify the procedures for decontrolling aircraft passengers.
• Unit 06 Procedures involved in disembarkation of airline passengers.
The course will include approximately 2 hours per week home study with 3 hours per week teaching input in the classroom. The course will be assessed by a variety of methods including written assignment, role play, practical sessions and presentations. The course is a pass or fail grade and students will complete a candidate’s pack.
Entry requirements
Candidates must be a minimum of 17 years of age and demonstrate some customer service experience and undertake an interview. No other entry requirements are needed.
Assessment
A portfolio will be produced which will gather evidence for each unit showing written work, observation reports, witness statements and photographic evidence.
