Within the civil aviation industry, cabin crew play an essential role in ensuring the safety and comfort of airline passengers. It is important, therefore, that airline cabin crew are appropriately trained for the job. The NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew prepares candidates for entry to airline training. It is not intended as a replacement to the training given by airlines to new airline cabin crew. It is ideal for those people interested in seeking employment within an airline.
The qualification has been endorsed by bmi who have further indicated the value of the qualification by guaranteeing an interview for those students who successfully complete the qualification and meet their minimum criteria.
Assessment will be by compiling an assessed portfolio.
There are six units:
• Understand the Airline Industry and the Role of Airline Cabin Crew
• Promote Effective Customer Care in the Airline Industry
• Maintain Effective Team Working and Communications in the Airline Industry
• Contribute to the Health & Safety of Airline Passengers
• Contribute to Aviation Security
• Demonstrate an Understanding of the Airport Arrival Process
Candidates must successfully complete all six mandatory units to be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew. Smart dress will be required whilst attending this course.
Entry requirements
Prospective candidates should be aware that airline recruitment procedures, although they may vary, generally require the following specifications in prospective employees:
• Minimum age of 18
• The right to live and work in the EU
• An excellent standard of health which may be subject to medical examination by the airline
• Height between 5’2”-6’2” with weight in proportion
• An ability to swim at least 25 metres
