Have you recently completed a Diploma in Uniformed Services Level 2? Or are you new to Uniformed Services but eager to learn about this exciting sector? Either way, if you are looking for a dynamic and rewarding career where you can really make a difference to people's lives, then this is the sector for you! Our Extended Diploma in Uniformed Services Level 3 provides you with the skills and knowledge and skills you need to pursue a career in the Police Force, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Armed Forces, Prison Service, H M Revenue and Customs or even Probation and Social Services!

What will I be doing?

Our exciting and interactive course will enable you to develop new skills in leadership, citizenship, self-management, problem solving and communication.

You will be encouraged to ask important questions about human rights, crime, citizenship and diversity. How important is discipline and obedience in modern society? How are government policies developed and how do these policies affect public services such as policing, prisons and health care?

You will explore the security measures used in custodial services and the importance of communication technology for the police and emergency services. You will learn how to respond to emergency service incidents, carry out land-based adventure activities and prepare your body and lifestyle for entry into the sector.

Our careers planning service will help you make decisions about your own career, apply for a job and prepare for interviews.

Entry requirements

You will have five GCSE grades A-C, including a minimum grade D in English and Maths. Alternatively, you will have a Diploma in Uniformed Services Level 2 with a Merit grade, in addition to at least one GCSE at grade D or above.

Assessment

You will be assessed on an ongoing basis through reports, projects, presentations, practical work and written tests.

What next?

After completing your Extended Diploma, you may like to think about our HND in Uniformed Services or a degree in Public Service Management, Policing Studies or Social Work.

With further education and training, you could embark on an extraordinary career as a Royal Marines Commando, Coastguard, Police Officer, Army Soldier, Paramedic, or even a Scenes of Crime Officer!
