Keeping technology at the forefront of education

 Once again Worcester College of Technology is leading the education sector forward through the rapidly changing world of technology after becoming the 3^rd college in the country to become part of Apple’s latest enterprise ITunes U.

The service created by technology giant Apple enables colleges and universities from across the world to publish and share their educational resources, engaging students worldwide. The College now joins the world’s leading educational establishments currently using the service including Yale University.

Talking about the new service at a recent press conference was Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller saying "Education is deep in Apple's DNA and iPad may be our most exciting education product yet. With 1.5 million iPads already in use in education institutions, including over 1,000 one-to-one deployments, iPad is rapidly being adopted by schools across the US and around the world".

ITunes U is just one of the ways Worcester College of Technology has developed how they engage students across the world. So far over £600, 000 of external funding has enabled the College to make vast developments in the area of E-Learning. Following a recent grant of £100, 000 three new positions will be created within the College.

Advances in E-Learning at the College has also enabled great work to be done internationally with a combined project with the charity Computer Aid International helping develop E-Learning at Universities across Africa, providing training and support to over 80 lecturers in the continent.
