Worcester Pop Punk band ‘Emergency Room’ will be taking part in the first round of the highly acclaimed Surface Unsigned Festival 2010 on Sunday 21st February 2010.
The Access to Music students from Worcester College of Technology get ready to take on the big guns and battle their way through the first round of the Midlands leg of the Surface Unsigned Festival.
The first round will be held at the Flapper pub in Birmingham on Sunday 21st February and if successful, the band could go on to play at the O2 Academy and then London’s O2 Arena. The night will be judged by a professional panel, a text vote and then finally by an audience decision.
Punk continues to be a hit in the UK music scene since it developed in the mid Seventies, with bands such as The Sex Pistols and The Clash. Emergency Room mix pop and punk to create a fresher sound- which they hope will bring them success at the Surface Unsigned Festival 2010.
The band consists of Tom Heavens Bass and Vocals, Steve Neale Guitar and Lead Vocals, and Neil Loftus Drums. They are very quickly becoming Worcester’s most loved Pop Punk band, and Surface Unsigned Festival could unlock a successful future in the UK’s tough music industry. The bands two original members, Tom and Neil, founded Emergency Room 3 years ago, and have recently taken a giant leap forward by hiring guitarist and singer Steve.
Surface Unsigned Festival is dedicated to discovering and promoting new musical talent. The festival will take place in all major cities nationwide - making it the biggest event of its kind. This is hugely exciting for Emergency Room who have been practicing hard to perfect their 20 minute set.
Tickets for the gig are £6 each, and you can get them by emailing tomheavens@msn.com or sending a message to the band’s MySpace; www.myspace.com/emergencyroomofficial. The night will consist of 6 to 8 bands, Emergency Room will be on second (8pm - 8.20pm).
