Taster Day

Wednesday 30th June 2010
9.30am - 3.00pm

Worcester College of Technology offers young people a caring, supportive and disciplined environment in which to achieve success. We expect high standards of commitment and effort from all our students. Attendance at lessons is compulsory. We value punctuality and time-keeping, respect for others and the environment. Homework is an essential part of developing self-study skills and students complete it to the best of their ability.

The College now has 15 library study centres. Each centre surrounds students with all of the curriculum resources that they need to be successful. They house books, computers, video and audio equipment and each centre has Degree qualified staff to assist students with their self-study. There is always one centre open on week days from 9.00am - 9.15pm and on Saturday mornings - so no excuse about not being able to complete homework on time! I hope that your child will find the Taster Day interesting and beneficial and use the experience to help them plan for their future.

Students should arrive at the meeting point for their chosen subject, no later than 9.30am. A member of College staff will be there to register your attendance. If you have forgotten your option choice for the taster day, please see your Head of Year, who has a list of all student option choices. A list will also be available on the day at the reception desk of the All Saints’ Building. The map on the back of this leaflet shows where the various buildings are located.

Food: You are advised to bring your own packed lunch although food and drink will be available to purchase in the refectory during break and lunch period.  Finishing times may vary but will generally be 3.00pm.
