From 9th -13th November 2009 engineering students showcased their talents and undertook a 'Pimp My Ride' challenge!

The competition
Team 'Silverstone's VW GolfSix teams of engineering students were given a day to customise a car or motorbike, creating their own designs and bringing them to life. Use the links on this page to watch the videos and find out how each team got on.

Judging
On Friday 13th of November the cars were lined up in front of St. Andrews Building, Deansway and marked by Judges Chris Morecroft (Principal, Worcester College of Technology), Sid (RKR Used Car Spares) and Tony Ingram (Tires Ltd. Worcester).

The judges awarded marks based on Engineering expertise, visual appearance and theme.

Celebrating opportunities
After Colleges Week the students will have a chance to explain and demonstrate the skills they used to visiting pupils from schools in the surrounding area. Worcester College of Technology Team Donington's Wacky Race's Scramble Bikehopes this will show younger learners the opportunities available in more non-academic courses.

For the students taking part it is a great way of getting further recognition for their work. Events such as this provide students with valuable additions for their CVs, in-turn making them more employable when they leave the college.
