Full time or part-time students attending courses that are funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) may be eligible for tuition fee remission if they are:
- In receipt of means-tested Job Seekers Allowance/Income Related ESA
- In receipt of Income Support/Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit/Guaranteed Pension Credit
- In receipt of Working Tax Credits where the income for tax credit purposes is less than £15,275
- An unwaged dependant of any of the above
- Starting a FIRST level 2 course
- Aged under 25 yeas of age on 1st September 2009 and starting a FIRST Level 3 full-time course
- Starting a FIRST level 3 course, but who do not already have a level 2 qualification
If you feel you qualify for this remission in tuition fee you should enrol on the course of your choice, (provided it is LSC funded, ask at the College Office for confirmation if you are unsure) complete the application for remission and submit it to the College Office.
You must provide evidence of meeting at least one of the above criteria.
The remission cannot be given on fees that are not related to tuition e.g. examinations, registrations etc. If you are ineligible for fee remission you may be able to apply for fee reduction, refer to the Learning Support Fund.
